On Canada Day
In acknowledgment of the atrocities and injustices that our country has, and continues to inflict on the Indigenous People of this land, we will be observing Canada Day differently – July 1st will be a day to reflect, educate, and act so that we may be the most effective allies possible. We mourn and honour the innocent children found, and to be found, in the mass graves of Residential Schools across this land, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Twospirit, Trans People, and Girls across the nation and all the survivors who remain. BWIM Spring Collection Drive
Black Women in Motion Spring Collection Drive In addition to raising funds for Black Women in Motion through the sale of Beer For Everybody items ($1,723 raised already!) we will be collecting items at the brewery for their spring collection drive to support and empower black women and survivors of sexual violence in Toronto. Tech hardware donations support barrier-free access to devices and technology for those participating in the Black Youth Employment Assistance Program which provides black women with the opportunity to develop skills related to their career. BEER FOR EVERYBODY SPRING 2021 We are so excited to announce Black Women in Motion as our current Beer For Everybody beneficiary! Black Women in Motion is a Toronto-based, youth-led organization that empowers and supports the advancement of black women and survivors of sexual violence. They work within an anti-racist, intersectional feminist, trauma-informed and survivor-centred framework to create culturally-relevant content, educational tools, healing spaces and economic opportunities for black women. BEER FOR EVERYBODY A phrase we’ve long used around the brewery is Beer is for Everybody.
