Left Field Brewery – Liberty Village is a 300 seat, two storey, brewery, tap room and kitchen emphasizing high quality craft beer, food and brand experiences. It’s a space to connect over a beer and to catch the game while cheering on the home team. As an extension of our existing brewery and Tap Room, we are in search of a General Manager to operate our Liberty Village location.

Summary
The General Manager will be the senior operations person within Left Field Brewery – Liberty Village, reporting directly to Ownership and is the senior leader to whom all other Liberty Village location management report to. The GM will provide guidance and leadership to all other Left Field Brewery Liberty Village Management to encourage personal growth and development and in the successful execution of the business including fiscal responsibility, and business development. They will drive the business forward while overseeing a wide range of daily activities ranging from day-to-day operations to forecasting and budgeting. 

This individual will have an active presence on the floor supporting and leading the Liberty Village team. They are responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality beer and food, while leading Left Field Brewery vision for exceptional guest experiences. The General Manager is ultimately responsible for leading the business towards financial success while upholding Left Field Brewery’s brand and core values.

Responsibilities
– Leads the team with enthusiasm, energy and demonstrates a genuine positive demeanour
– Ensures every guest receives the desired Left Field Brewery brand experience and leaves eager to both return and recommend the brand and establishment to others
– Manages and oversee the food operations, with presence on the floor throughout key service periods
– Develops service standards and training with focus on guest experience standards
– People progression and development training
– Works with management to ensure a working environment that is safe, inclusive and collaborative with team members at all levels, promoting a culture of positivity and development from within
– Fiscal reporting; budget creation, sales forecasting, labour, and inventory cost management
– Strategic planning; business plan development, action planning and participation in annual/monthly brewing, marketing and promotional planning, inventory management for all food, beverage and operational supplies
– Cross business collaboration: works with other Left Field Brewery management team (Brewing, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Retail and Events) to support overall needs of the business

Education and Experience
Minimum of 5 years of Food and Beverage management experience
– Minimum 2 years at a General Manager level
– Experience in a new restaurant opening is an asset
– Experience in a restaurant and brewery operation is an asset
– Proficient computer skills including but not limited to: POS, inventory software, Google Drive (and associated programs like docs, slides and sheets)
– Food Safety Certificate, Smart Serve and W.H.M.I.S.
– Knowledge of draught systems
– Must be able to move items weighing 140lbs from ground level to hand cards and up/down staircases
– Must be able to stand and move for extended periods of time to continuously perform essential job functions
– Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs
