IN SUPPORT OF ANISHNAWBE HEALTH FOUNDATION

BEER FOR EVERYBODY FALL 2021

We are honoured to be supporting Anishnawbe Health Foundation as our Beer For Everybody beneficiary through October 2021. Anishnawbe Health Foundation is an Indigenous-led registered charity that supports an environment where the urban Indigenous community can heal spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally by enhancing capital and program funding for Anishnawbe Health Toronto; and fosters the reclamation, preservation, research and application of traditional healing methods, including the sharing of these with all people.

For 30 years – more than one generation – Anishnawbe Health Toronto has been the only provider of western medical services combined with traditional healing services within a multi-disciplinary health care model. This Indigenous-led, accredited Community Health Centre is the model for other Indigenous Community Health Centres and health access centres across Ontario.

100% of profits from all Beer For Everybody apparel and $2 from the sale of every B4E 6 Pack from August 1st to October 31st will be donated to Anishnawbe Health Foundation. Beer For Everybody’s intention is to showcase and support local organizations that work to dismantle systemic inequities. This initiative is not a single campaign, but rather a statement of our beliefs and a name under which we will continue to take action to uphold our commitments to equity and inclusion. It is our belief that beer can be a powerful tool to build community, to bring people together and to drive positive change.

In a literal sense, we know that beer is not for everybody. Alcohol has historically been used as a colonial tool to control, manipulate and marginalize Indigenous communities, repercussions of which continue to harm Indigenous people to this day. We have chosen to support Anishnawbe Health Foundation through this initiative as an acknowledgement of this truth, and to financially support Anishnawbe Health Toronto in their effort to provide healing to the Urban Indigenous Community in Toronto.

At Left Field, we believe in a just and equitable society for all. We do not tolerate racism, sexism, heterosexism, cissexism, ableism, ageism and other inequitable systems or forms of oppression – not only between our own four walls but also within our communities. We remain committed to actively upholding these values over the long term.

We acknowledge that the sacred land on which we operate, and those on which many of our ingredients are grown, is the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg (Ah-nish-in-nah-beg), the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee (Ho-den-oh-sho-nee) and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples.
