In the late 1880s, brick was in high demand in Toronto, and our neighbourhood was home to some of the 36 brickyards in the city. Can you believe that at one point, Greenwood Park was a clay quarry? Brewed in collaboration with our neighbours, Pilot Coffee Roasters, Bricks and Mortar is our tribute to the brick industry upon which our neighbourhood was built along with our own evolution to becoming a physical brewery. Pilot’s Community Seasonal Blend of Guatemalan and Columbian beans were added in the final stages of conditioning imparting notes of ripe plum, dark honey and milk chocolate expressing the unique conditions of its origin.
All about Community Seasonal Blend! Pilot Coffee Roasters have launched a special project with producer partners in the unique growing regions of Chimaltenango, Guatemala and Paicol, Colombia. Proceeds directly support programs for coffee workers and their families. In Chimaltenango, the revenue earned by Community Blend will support medical pop-ups and healthcare facilities through the COFFEE CARE project, and in Paicol, it will fund a road initiative to improve conditions, increase safety and efficiency for farmers transporting their harvest.
Collecting consecutive titles for best pitcher in the 1960s, and smashing records for his hitting, Glorioso Italian Pilsner, is named in honour of Italy’s first true baseball star Giulio Glorioso. We brewed this fan favourite with Eraclea® Pilsner Malt, a terroir malt produced from premium Eraclea barley grown near the Adriatic Sea northeast of Venice. Italy’s Adriatic coast offers perfect conditions for Eraclea Pilsner Malt to flourish, with long sunny days and super dry conditions. This dry and crisp pilsner is then generously dry hopped with Hallertau Mittelfruh and Styrian Bobek to impart elegant, floral, earthy, sweet spice and citrus aroma and flavour. Truly perfect for any occasion, we’re bringing back this fan favourite and we hope you love it!
